M. Alex Monahan focuses his practice on business and corporate law, real estate law and commercial litigation. Alex is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School where he earned the Dean’s Scholar Award and was a Bronze Key recipient for academic excellence. During law school, Alex was an active member in Wayne State’s Moot Court program and was part of the Billings Exum Frye National Moot Court Competition Team. Alex was also actively involved with the Transactional Law Competition program at Wayne State.
Alex worked as a law clerk for Lippitt O’Keefe Gornbein during the summer of 2016 and throughout his third year in law school. He also spent time working closely with the General Counsel’s office at Wayne State as a corporate counsel extern. Upon graduation Alex worked for a law firm in downtown Detroit before re-joining Lippitt O’Keefe Gornbein in 2018.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Michigan State University’s James Madison College in 2012. While at Michigan State, Alex was a judicial board member of the Student-Faculty Hearing Board and an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
His professional memberships include the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is also an active member of the Detroit Athletic Club.
