Jodi Debbrecht Switalski, appointed by the Governor to the bench, served as a highly successful substance abuse and mental health treatment court judge in Waterford, Michigan. During her time on the bench, she received numerous state appointments and accolades including the first ever, unanimously selected, Integrity in our Communities Award from Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Switalski stepped down from the bench to continue her work with The Stutman Switalski Group LLC where she speaks and consults internationally on issues of substance abuse, mental health and litigation. She has been one of the highest rated and keynote speakers in such venues as Harvard Medical School, MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (Justice for Vets). Switalski also consults on issues of liability mitigation strategies on behalf of Switalski Consulting LLC for such companies as Quest Diagnostics, Siemens, Solo Technologies (Ikeyp Prescription Drug Safe) and many other medical and dental practices around the country.
Prior to her judicial appointment, she served as Magistrate and Court Administrator in the 45 A District Court and as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Macomb County. Highly successful in litigation, Switalksi’s prosecutorial career focused on family, juvenile and crimes of violence, many of which were capital convictions.
Switalski also serves as Of Counsel with Lippitt O’Keefe Gornbein PLLC concentrating her practice on risk evaluation and mitigation strategies, malpractice, family law matters, criminal law matters and probate litigation.
