Beneficial Owner Information Reporting

BENEFICIAL OWNER INFORMATION REPORTING

Congress has enacted the bipartisan Corporate Transparency Act. This law requires many companies doing business in the United States to report information about who ultimately owns or controls them. Effective January 1, 2024, many companies must report information about their beneficial owners—the individuals who ultimately own or control the company—to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

More information is available here. The filing itself can be done at this website.

If you would like Lippitt O’Keefe’s assistance with filing your company’s beneficial ownership information, please complete our survey here before June 30, 2024. Please have a photo of the driver’s license or passport ready for each beneficial owner for your company. We will be happy to prepare your filing for a flat, one-time fee of $275 per company.
